Who Rents Limousines ?

When you think of limousines you have a few pictures in your mind. One would be Hollywood in front of a huge theater pulling up to the red carpet or a much sadder occation driving to a funeral.

Neither image could be futher from the truth. They are found more so going to concerts due to parking concerns at larger venues and many more. The following is a list of different transportation occations Hire Quality has provided.
  • Sporting events (High School, College and Professional)
  • Weddings
  • Concerts
  • Airports
  • City tours (Atlantic City, Philadelphia, New York, Tampa, Miami and more.)
  • Special Occations (Birthday, Anniversary,Night Out and Babies first ride Home)
  • First ride to new Home
  • Corporate Transportation ( Large or Small meetings, Airport, Business dinners, Road Shows and much more)
  • Funerals
As you see limousine service is a much wider variety then most people think. Who uses Black Car or Limousine service mostly the general public and business professionals who depend on reliable on time service. Recently limousine companies have expanded there services to include Sedans, SUV's, Vans, Buses and of course limousines. It is always good to check your local limousine company for services before going to the larger motor coach companies. This is due to the deversified fleets most limousine companies have today. They can custom fit your party size to the vehicle. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at Hire Quality Limousine or on the web at http://www.hqlimo.com/

Thanks again for visiting our Blog and Happy Travels.

Here Comes the Sun

We all drive our vehicles year round not only limousines, but your car needs special care during the change of seasons. When ever the changes temperatures your car goes thru some unique changes also. Warm weather stretches belts ,tires, hoses and most anything plastic or rubber. Oils and lubricants have some significant changes which effect their properties and ability to preform.

With respect to tires your pressure can increase or decrease. From hot to cold tire can increase in pressure by 3 to 7 pounds. This does not seem like a lot but it can effect your fuel mileage by 3 to 5 miles per gallon when over pressured. So fuel mileage loss and premature tire wear is an effect of incorrect tire inflation or under inflation.
Another item most people forget is their air conditioning or AC system coming from cold weather to hot. If you have ever rolled up the windows turned on the AC just to find hot air blowing in your face you know what I mean.

So here is a checklist we do during the change of seasons:

Cold to Hot

  • Tire pressure
  • Belts on motor
  • Engine coolant
  • A/C Servicing
  • Windshield washer fluid and blades
Hot to Cold
  • Tire Pressure and condition for snow
  • Heater
  • Coolant for proper mixture( not too much water for freezing)
  • Fuel tank for the presents of water ( add some dry gas)
I hope this helps jog your memory for the change of seasons. Don't forget to also change your fluids as suggested by your manufacture.

Illegal Limousine Operators

In every city across the country illegal operators stalk large hotel looking for a quick buck. Most of the time they team up with a doorman or consierge with an agreement of a kick back to either one. They offer lower rates due to there lack of insurance, regulatory agencies, vehicle inspections and much more.

The biggest problem is they may look like any other legal company but they are not. In Maryland chauffeurs have background and fingerprint checks thru the FBI and local police agencies. They have photo ID cards and have an interview with our regulatory agency. All of this and regular rechecks every few years.

If traveling on business you need to be very careful  ladies more so than men. A lady traveling on business late at night getting in the back of a car of someone you don't know is very scary.

Here are a few things you can do.
  • Check with your hotel who they use and get a business card or phone number.
  • Do your background check on the Internet (if they have a website, office, phone)
  • Have them send you a contract
  • Ask for their DOT / MC / Authority to operate / Insurance Co.and insurance limits.
  • Age of vehicles and how many they have.
  • Do they except credit cards?
  • Know your cost up front.
I have checked with some of these illegal limo companies. A driver who hustles can make up to $500.00 a day. Now think of this and know they work 6 - 7 days a week and 12 months a year. What keeps them from being legal. Well quite a few are illegal aliens who can't get a driver licence for one reason or they other. They can't pass a background check due to past history with the law and many more.

In closing do your home work when traveling out of town know who your drive is.   If you ever find your self in Baltimore please remember Hire Quality Limousines (www).hqlimo.com

Thank you for taking your time and if I can be of any help please feel free to call.

Bye for now.
